Rain. Dany's cooking class. More rain. Buena Vida, is the name. Mud. Clear skies. Bad roads. Iguanas. What next?

SO!

It's been cloudy and hazy and everything for the last two weeks, but today, you can see the sky and a lot of it! I'm getting ahead of meself though...
  • Last two weeks: Cloudy, hazy, drizzly.

  • Thursday: The head chef of the Hotel California, Dany Lamote's cooking class debuts with delicious results. Some of the leftovers were in Dad and I's breakfast frittata, in fact.

  • Friday: Most sane people don't go to school due to rain - who's going to walk through soup? Rain continues nostop through day. I have to put my backpack in a plastic bag to put it in the back of Dad's pickup.
Dad and I get a pizza to go at Buena Vida, which is what the name of Jessie's place turned out to be. The atmosphere was wonderful and many people were sheltering from the cold water sprinkling, bucketing or dripping down, and the sticky mud rising up. Even the Copes were there, because Michael* would get rained on while he cooked at La Copa - wait, I didn't tell you about that either? Gods above and below! Well, he's cooking at the La Copa wine bar Wednesday Thursday and Friday.

  • Saturday - in other words, today -: Clear skies! Dios mio, really? I thought it would never happen!
The problem is, the water wore holes in
    -Paved roads
    -Dirt roads
so there's potholes, potholes EVERYWHERE. I am NOT KIDDING.

  • Also at La Iguana there's reggae(-ton? I'm not sure) music on Friday and Norte~no (there's supposed to be an ~ n there but I'm to lazy to open up Word and type one and paste it in and deal with the attached annoying tags) (northern) music on Saturday. I have yet to go :(.

*Does the name sound farmiliar? He's the author of Howard and Michael and a great cook and painter. (He may sound farmiliar for other reasons if you are Pat or Lane Cope or Eric Ochoa, etc. I'm just listing a couple reasons!

14 days

...to yet more pizza. From the creators of Le Tre Galline, comes ANOTHER PIZZA PLACE!!

Sorry, I don't know the name.

Saturday, January 06, 2007

Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!

I really am sorry I haven't posted in so long! Well, so this is the up-to-dateness:

Christmas, as seen from Boxing Day.

Bye-bye, 2007.

So. Well. News.

Pizza pizza pizza is the news! We went from none to a ton... wait did I cover that already? Anyway here are the people with zee pizza:
Il Giaridini
An Italian restauraunt with not just pizza, but really good pasta, and salads, and...

Jessie's Place
Face it, I'm not sure if that's the real name. But hey, Dad says they're good (I haven't been there :( ) and that the pizzas are the perfect size for one person. More on them once I go there.

The Sandbar
has all-you-can-eat pizza on Wednesdays - not that convinient if you're a light eater, but if you are the whole H familly (five people, three of whom are boys in between the ages of eleven and eighteen) and me after a day at the beach (they're in Pescadero, so they're good if you're coming back from a nice long day at Cerritos) (i. e., five or six pieces each ;) ). Also the ambiance is nice.
In conclusion, this is pretty darn cool that we have all this pizza - and as long as we're talking about food, Suki's is OPEN! Yay! Korean food! Yay!

'Tis the season to be stressed out, can't find a parking spot, tra-la-la-la

Well. Plenty 'o people are in town for Christmas but for some reason I'd expected more! because it is the holidays! Local businesses were clogged up if they offered apparel around the time of the school parties because of the social pressure to model a brand-new, never-before-seen outfit, down to the socks, at every party. Yours truly was busy; the curse of being a ruthless procrastinator. And several houses will be clogged up with useless knickernacks which they thanked the givers for insincerely, plotting the donation of the poor porcelain things to the tianguis next year, to be passed around to clutter more closets.

That is Christmas.

I am being a willing participant.

But why does everyone have to park right in front of my dad's photo gallery, Galeria On-ce?

I am not dead, either.

But I think you noticed.

Stupid New Money

They've come out with a plastic fifty... all well and hard to forge but they rip easily, so then if you have a ripped fifty/twenty no one will take it and it's like one of those games where you're passing something around and at the end the person who ends up with it looses, it's like that only this isn't a game its real life and money.

Dad is not dead.

Dad just told me today that he thinks the people who read his blog probably think he's dead or something. Well he's not. And he's too young to die so don't go getting any ideas. Just thought I'd let whoever reads this know.

The Gallery Week

Last week, while also being Thanksgiving week, was unofficially the Gallery Opening Week-- La Galera had an opening, and Galeria On-ce [11] had its too. At La Galera I temporarilly lost my hat but I got it back a couple days later.
Galeria On-ce is the joint effort of Jack H. and my Dad to make a photo gallery. That's actually where I am -- the building's roughly a square, with almost one-quarter an outdoor bit that's just roofed with the same flat concrete one, then the three rooms take up almost all of it, with two little storage rooms and a bathroom in the remaining thin rectangle-- I'm in the room that borders on the back part: my Dad's office.

Huston, We Are Propping Up The Ganda

The other day, conversation in the car, listening to ... Cabo Mil I think.

Raido: *static static static* Entonces hay una obligacion social a ayudar en el dessarollo *dissolves in static*

Mom: What was that?

Me: *translating carefully* There is a social... um, I think it's obligaiton, yeah, obligaition to support development...

Mom: Well that's propaganda! What about the developement at the expense of the enviroment?!

Road Troubles- No End In Sight

By Dad's office (Galeria On.ce [11]) They ripped up the crosswalks [crossrocks] and put in... A vein of cement? How weird!

These are from the fair.

Traffic Accident

There was a traffic accident on the road to Cabo. A semi-trailer hauling a bulldozer and a dump truck-- I don't have many details yet, but apparently it was very nasty, blocked both lanes for four hours. This is why they are trying to spread road education-- I just wish the videos weren't so nasty!

Crossrocks update

All evidence of ripped-up crossrocks are gone. They don't seem like they're in any special hurry to clean up from when they made them, though.

Sayonara, Ex-Crosswalks!

Remember the crosswalks, made of rock and thus termed cross-rocks? Well, they had to hurry to get them done by Oct. 28-- so guess what! They're being ripped up.
AGAIN.
Am I the only one who thinks that workers and angry drivers in a hurry will be a permanent addition to the Main Street?
For the sake of local sanity, I hope so. How I hope so.

We are a Pueblo Magico...

...Full of problemas.

But still, we're magic.

And isn't that cool!

Saturday, October 21, 2006

Boy oh boy do I have a LOT to say!
  • The furniture store by Miguel's Restauraunt has actual furniture in it! Who would've thought?
  • There is a Hot Dog Cartel Conspiracy! They all raise their prices at the same time, darnit! The price went up by 20%!
  • They are doing all the crossrocks in red rock. That is all well and good, but it is driving the grownups (some of them) nuts because the main drag is all ripped up! At least they have to be done by monday, because... (*whispers* I gave you a segue there. Worship me, bogglefish of the world!)
  • Monday is the Big Big Day of Official Pueblo Magico-ness!! The Guv'nor is coming to inagurate the whatnot and TS gets to be a Pueblo Magico! As long as they don't give us long dumb skirts that you can't kick in without showing your knickers, I'm happy with it.
  • The road to Las Tunas may have seen a road grater (holy day!) or at least a front-end loader; aka, there are not bumps so horrible that my head bangs on the ceiling. Good.
  • It was getting colder (at last!!!!) but then it started getting warmer, and now I can't wear pants any more! No fair!
  • I have a username on Mugglenet chat: Dragon-Cat.

I must have...

  • The most infuriating teacher on the planet.
  • One of the most voracious appetites for the printed page (no, not literally) that I know of.
  • The only cats named, respectively, Milldred Millicent Aslana Hubble, Diana Athenae Ying Simease, and Nostradamus Kay Lloyd, the last of which comes if you go, "NOSTRADAMUS KAY LLOYD! WHERE ARE YOU!" or just say his full name. Loudly.
  • Um, a laptop called the Cattop?

I think that's all for now. but my teacher really IS infuriating. It doesn't help that I don't like her. Because she's infuriating?

I'm being hopeless, I really am. I'll post this so you will be warned. Nyahahahaahahahahahah! Rosesalyyn, stop it.

The fair is over and gone...

...but that means I have time to post!

The fair was a riot, really fun; I'll post photos soon! (Like, for example, when I get somewhere, such as a certain house, to get the cables! It's sort of hard to do it without proper equipment!) So, ergo, I post photos later. But there will be many. A great many!! A great, great, great many!!! Because I, Cosima of Mexico, Dreaming-Cat-369 and RulerOfTheCosmos*, Discovered...
the great...
NIGHT MODE OF THE POINT & SHOOT CAMERA!!!**

Bogglefish! Worship me!
Bogglefish: Can't. Am boggling at seaweed. Very urgent.
Shoot. What are you good for?
Bogglefish: Boggling, duh.
Darn it! That's obvious! And I'm being random!! And the bogglefish sounds like a teenager!!*** noooooo....

Oh well. All's well. But darn it, I have school tommorow! With Escolta!! At least it's cooling down... So no more looking like you just came out of the shower WITH your 100% polyester (the people who introduced El Uniforme and my school to polyester are EVIL!!) uniform ON just for EXISTING!! Sweat and summer are EVIL!! ****

I forgot what I was trying to say, so I'm publishing this.*****

THE FOOTNOTES ARE OPTIONAL. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
*Reading too much Jonothan Stroud does this to me. I'm amassing all my names to see if I can rival Bartimaeus. (fyi, I don't think so.) You, Unfortunate Reader, get caught in the cross-fire. Bang! B-bang! Bang bang!

**It's a bit like AV, actually. I have a Canon PowerShot A60, in case you were wondering.

***No offense to teenager. I'm talking stereotypes here!

****Rose (observes drily): You are calling a lot of things evil. Remember, your BIRTHDAY is in August! (Leo, like Harry Potter) Is your birthday evil? Not to mention the longest vacation both you and your parents get the WHOLE YEAR?!?!
Cosima: (amiably) Oh, be quiet and enjoy the show.
Dreaming-Cat-369: Anyway, you didn't mention sweat and it would be OUR birthday, OUR vacation, and OUR parents-- we are RulerOfTheCosmos' personality's facets!!
Rose: Are you OBSESSED?
Dreaming-Cat-369: Hey, bud, I'M the WRITER here!
RulerOfTheCosmos: SHUT. UP. EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
Bima: Tee hee, that's funny, you're telling yourself to shut up!
RulerOfTheCosmos: What did I say?
Crekman: Beats me, were you not listening either?

*****Rose: (cackling nastily) Her train of thought de-railed, was abducted by Vogons, was blown up, was wanted a piece of, was turned into a towel, was summoned by accident, almost killed, dropped down a dark hole, and lost it's temper when a man it was quietly trying to kill decide to join in. It then returned in the form of a beard, a cat puked on it, a dog ate it, and her mom threw it out. Needless to say, it was a little bit lost.
Crekman: Hey, I'm dominant today!
Dreaming-Cat-369: OUR train of thought, OUR mom, one of OUR three cats, one of OUR three dogs, and I thought I was dominant today!
Rose: Let's ask Ruler.
RulerOfTheCosmos: I dunno, you guys sort it out!
Bima: Tee hee, you're telling yourself to sort it out...
Ruler: I'm fed up with you.
Bima: Tee hee--
Holliann: D'arvit!! Deja vu!!
Ruler: I'm publishing this. Maybe then I'll get some peace.
Crekman: Peace? Us? As if!
Holliann: D'arvit!
Bima: Don't curse.
Holliann: But-but it's in Gnommish!
Bima: ...So?
Ruler: Holli, I'm saving your skin and publishing this. I hope you're happy-- you owe me a favor!
Bima: Tee hee--
Ruler: I don't want to hear it.
Crekman: You sound like mom.
Ruler: AAAAUUUGHHFFFFAUUUGHTTTIIIIIINNNNNEEEEEEEEUuUUUUUUUuuUUGH! You are driving me nuts!
Dreaming-Cat-369: Hey, that's not a word! and it would be I am driving me nuts!!
Bima: Tee hee--
Crekman: While she's busy screaming--
Dreaming-Cat-369: You mean, while I'M busy screaming.
Bima: Tee hee!
Ruler: I am so SICK OF YOU!

Yo ho ho and a big yawn.

I stayed up till 2 in the morning last night. Note to self: Never do that unless it seems like a good idea at the time. Which it always does. Ho-hum. C'mere, kitty kitty kitty. *looks up guiltily* O.o Oops. Sorry. C'mere, Nostra... *falls asleep* *drools on keyboard a bit* *gets an electric shock* Oops.

So as you can see, I don't have much to say...

But check out this from the almighty FanFiction author Camilla Sandman *whistles and catcalls in the distance* *looks miffed* Like I was saying, from the almighty author Camilla Sandman's The Official Fanfiction University of Middleearth *more whistles and catcalls* Can I just get on with my speach already?! Thank you?!?! As I was saying, from Camilla Sandman's The Official Fanfiction University of Middleearth! Funny thing alert!!

“Miss Holling, Sauron, Lord of the Earth sent us to 'intimidate into not revealing that I have a girlfriend, but subtly'. Oh, I shouldn't have said that, should I? I'll start again. We are the Orcish Inquisition…”

And they get no further, because the crowd was on the ground laughing so hard it was said it scared off crows miles away, leaving the orcs and the Middle-earthians looking baffled.

“That's the last time we ask Saruman what humans consider scary,” the orc muttered, miffed.
